District Information
The Central Community School District of Clinton County serves a population of over 8,300 who live in Clinton County. Low Moor, Welton, Grand Mound and DeWitt are included in the school district boundaries. It is a rural district of approximately 179 square miles, served by 16 school bus routes.
The Central Community School District consists of Ekstrand Elementary School (grades PS-3), Central Intermediate School (grades 4-6), Central Middle School (grades 7-8), and Central High School (grades 9-12).
The Central Community School District is located in the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency boundaries. This AEA is located in Bettendorf and provides services and personnel to our district. Consultants in curriculum areas, as well as consultants in special education services, printing, media, inservice training and technology assistance are some of the services available.
Programs such as Title I, Title VI and non-public textbooks are shared with St. Joseph School in DeWitt.
The district currently employs 122 certified teachers, 8 office secretaries, 29 teacher associates, 25 nutrition services personnel, 13 maintenance/custodians, 22 transportation personnel, one business manager, one activities director, one director of innovation & technology, two program directors, four building administrators, and one superintendent.
