WINTER CLOTHING AVAILABLE: Winter can be an expensive time for families with the holidays, the high cost of home heating, and the need for warmer clothing.  Central Community Schools offers FREE winter coats, hats, mittens, and boots to any children in need.  Please contact Amanda Greubel, Family Resource Center Director at 659-0754 (office) or 563-559-0477 (cell) if your family is in need of assistance.


Open Enrollment Reminder: Open Enrollment is the process by which parents/guardians residing in an Iowa school district may enroll their child into a public school district other than the one in which they reside, under the terms and conditions of Iowa Code section 282.18 and the administrative rules of the Iowa Department of Education, 281 Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 17.

The parent/guardian must complete an application form that is available in the central office of Iowa school districts. The form is also available via the Iowa Department of Education's website http://www.iowa.gov/educate/ under Options for Ed. Choice, Open Enrollment. The completed form must be filed with both the resident and receiving district by March 1 of the year preceding the school year for which open enrollment is desired for students entering grades 1 through 12. The deadline for incoming kindergarten students is September 1 of the year open enrollment is first requested. The Family Resource Center is sponsoring a meeting for parents of children with ADHD tonight 6:00-7:00 pm at the Ekstrand Elementary Media Center. Join us to meet other parents, find resources, and learn about helping your child succeed! *Childcare will be provided.
